I'm very happy to say that Australia Post has resumed shipping to the US, which means I can too. Whoopee!!!!. Unfortunately, due to tariffs and US handling fees, US customers will have 11% (AUD) added to products they purchase. I don't like this anymore than you do but it's totally beyond my control.

About My Rope

I keep very little if any ready made rope or cordage in stock, so each piece is made to order.  This means I can adjust the hardness of each hanks lay to order, I can also play with colours I have in stock to create colour blends a customer may like to customise.  I'm all about customer needs so if it can be done, I'm happy to try.  All my cord is sold as 10m lengths but usually measures a little over 11m and sometimes even a bit longer.

I endeavour to use mainly cotton yarn but some is CVC which combines cotton's softness with polyester's durability. Common CVC ratios are 70% cotton to 30% polyester or 60% cotton to 40% polyester.  I do also use some purely synthetic yarns but they are usually sale items or Odd Bods, I'm trying to phase out.  The relevent yarn type will be noted in each product description.  Each yarn type reacts differently to twisting, some will form very hard rope and some quite soft when made using the exact same parameters, I try to counteract this but some difference in lay tension should be expected in ropes made from different yarn types.

Hard and firm lay rope.  They are the same thing, Firm lay is a figment of my imagination but what it means is this. The hard lay is exactly that, hard and relatively stiff but flexible. The firm lay is just as good hard lay and will show just as good definition in your projects but may be slightly more flexible if you doubt your hand strength or technique.  There is very little difference between the two.  H = Hard, F = Firm.

Please bear in mind, I use a variety of yarns and yarn sizes, so the finished rope diameter may vary slightly from the size ordered, e.g. a size 4/1 yarn with 3 yarns per hook on a three hook twister will likely produce 1.4mm rope/cord but 4 yarns per hook will produce 1.6mm rope/cord. In that case 1.5mm rope/cord is not achievable however, I will match diameter in your chosen size across your order to ensure any possible discrepancy in diameter is slight and will not adversely effect your project.
